الفصل 11
13 الساعي بالوشاية يفشي السر ، والأمين الروح يكتم الأمر
14 حيث لا تدبير يسقط الشعب ، أما الخلاص فبكثرة المشيرين
15 ضررا يضر من يضمن غريبا ، ومن يبغض صفق الأيدي مطمئن
16 المرأة ذات النعمة تحصل كرامة ، والأشداء يحصلون غنى
17 الرجل الرحيم يحسن إلى نفسه ، والقاسي يكدر لحمه
18 الشرير يكسب أجرة غش ، والزارع البر أجرة أمانة
19 كما أن البر يؤول إلى الحياة كذلك من يتبع الشر فإلى موته
20 كراهة الرب ملتوو القلب ، ورضاه مستقيمو الطريق
21 يد ليد لا يتبرر الشرير ، أما نسل الصديقين فينجو
22 خزامة ذهب في فنطيسة خنزيرة المرأة الجميلة العديمة العقل
23 شهوة الأبرار خير فقط . رجاء الأشرار سخط
24 يوجد من يفرق فيزداد أيضا ، ومن يمسك أكثر من اللائق وإنما إلى الفقر
25 النفس السخية تسمن ، والمروي هو أيضا يروى
26 محتكر الحنطة يلعنه الشعب ، والبركة على رأس البائع
اشعياء 65 : 8 - 16
الفصل 65
8 هكذا قال الرب : كما أن السلاف يوجد في العنقود ، فيقول قائل : لا تهلكه لأن فيه بركة . هكذا أعمل لأجل عبيدي حتى لا أهلك الكل
9 بل أخرج من يعقوب نسلا ومن يهوذا وارثا لجبالي ، فيرثها مختاري ، وتسكن عبيدي هناك
10 فيكون شارون مرعى غنم ، ووادي عخور مربض بقر ، لشعبي الذين طلبوني
11 أما أنتم الذين تركوا الرب ونسوا جبل قدسي ، ورتبوا للسعد الأكبر مائدة ، وملأوا للسعد الأصغر خمرا ممزوجة
12 فإني أعينكم للسيف ، وتجثون كلكم للذبح ، لأني دعوت فلم تجيبوا ، تكلمت
فلم تسمعوا ، بل عملتم الشر في عيني ، واخترتم ما لم أسر به
13 لذلك هكذا قال السيد الرب : هوذا عبيدي يأكلون وأنتم تجوعون . هوذا عبيدي يشربون وأنتم تعطشون . هوذا عبيدي يفرحون وأنتم تخزون
14 هوذا عبيدي يترنمون من طيبة القلب وأنتم تصرخون من كآبة القلب ، ومن انكسار الروح تولولون
15 وتخلفون اسمكم لعنة لمختاري ، فيميتك السيد الرب ويسمي عبيده اسما آخر
16 فالذي يتبرك في الأرض يتبرك بإله الحق ، والذي يحلف في الأرض يحلف بإله
الحق ، لأن الضيقات الأولى قد نسيت ، ولأنها استترت عن عيني
ايوب 42 : 1 - 6
الفصل 42
1 فأجاب أيوب الرب فقال
2 قد علمت أنك تستطيع كل شيء ، ولا يعسر عليك أمر
3 فمن ذا الذي يخفي القضاء بلا معرفة ؟ ولكني قد نطقت بما لم أفهم . بعجائب فوقي لم أعرفها
4 اسمع الآن وأنا أتكلم . أسألك فتعلمني
5 بسمع الأذن قد سمعت عنك ، والآن رأتك عيني
6 لذلك أرفض وأندم في التراب والرماد

21 فقال لها : ماذا تريدين ؟ قالت له : قل أن يجلس ابناي هذان واحد عن يمينك والآخر عن اليسار في ملكوتك
22 فأجاب يسوع وقال : لستما تعلمان ما تطلبان . أتستطيعان أن تشربا الكأس
التي سوف أشربها أنا ، وأن تصطبغا بالصبغة التي أصطبغ بها أنا ؟ قالا له :
نستطيع
23 فقال لهما : أما كأسي فتشربانها ، وبالصبغة التي أصطبغ بها أنا تصطبغان
. وأما الجلوس عن يميني وعن يساري فليس لي أن أعطيه إلا للذين أعد لهم من
أبي
24 فلما سمع العشرة اغتاظوا من أجل الأخوين
25 فدعاهم يسوع وقال : أنتم تعلمون أن رؤساء الأمم يسودونهم ، والعظماء يتسلطون عليهم
26 فلا يكون هكذا فيكم . بل من أراد أن يكون فيكم عظيما فليكن لكم خادما
27 ومن أراد أن يكون فيكم أولا فليكن لكم عبدا
28 كما أن ابن الإنسان لم يأت ليخدم بل ليخدم ، وليبذل نفسه فدية عن كثيرين

الفصل 4
5 فإننا لسنا نكرز بأنفسنا ، بل بالمسيح يسوع ربا ، ولكن بأنفسنا عبيدا لكم من أجل يسوع
6 لأن الله الذي قال : أن يشرق نور من ظلمة ، هو الذي أشرق في قلوبنا ، لإنارة معرفة مجد الله في وجه يسوع المسيح
7 ولكن لنا هذا الكنز في أوان خزفية ، ليكون فضل القوة لله لا منا
8 مكتئبين في كل شيء ، لكن غير متضايقين . متحيرين ، لكن غير يائسين
9 مضطهدين ، لكن غير متروكين . مطروحين ، لكن غير هالكين
10 حاملين في الجسد كل حين إماتة الرب يسوع ، لكي تظهر حياة يسوع أيضا في جسدنا
11 لأننا نحن الأحياء نسلم دائما للموت من أجل يسوع ، لكي تظهر حياة يسوع أيضا في جسدنا المائت
12 إذا الموت يعمل فينا ، ولكن الحياة فيكم
13 فإذ لنا روح الإيمان عينه ، حسب المكتوب : آمنت لذلك تكلمت ، نحن أيضا نؤمن ولذلك نتكلم أيضا
14 عالمين أن الذي أقام الرب يسوع سيقيمنا نحن أيضا بيسوع ، ويحضرنا معكم
15 لأن جميع الأشياء هي من أجلكم ، لكي تكون النعمة وهي قد كثرت بالأكثرين ، تزيد الشكر لمجد الله
16 لذلك لا نفشل ، بل وإن كان إنساننا الخارج يفنى ، فالداخل يتجدد يوما فيوما
17 لأن خفة ضيقتنا الوقتية تنشئ لنا أكثر فأكثر ثقل مجد أبديا
18 ونحن غير ناظرين إلى الأشياء التي ترى ، بل إلى التي لا ترى . لأن التي ترى وقتية ، وأما التي لا ترى فأبدية
نعمة ربنا يسوع المسيح فلتكن معنا آمين

الفصل 3
13 لا تتعجبوا يا إخوتي إن كان العالم يبغضكم
14 نحن نعلم أننا قد انتقلنا من الموت إلى الحياة ، لأننا نحب الإخوة . من لا يحب أخاه يبق في الموت
15 كل من يبغض أخاه فهو قاتل نفس ، وأنتم تعلمون أن كل قاتل نفس ليس له حياة أبدية ثابتة فيه
16 بهذا قد عرفنا المحبة : أن ذاك وضع نفسه لأجلنا ، فنحن ينبغي لنا أن نضع نفوسنا لأجل الإخوة
17 وأما من كان له معيشة العالم ، ونظر أخاه محتاجا ، وأغلق أحشاءه عنه ، فكيف تثبت محبة الله فيه
18 يا أولادي ، لا نحب بالكلام ولا باللسان ، بل بالعمل والحق
19 وبهذا نعرف أننا من الحق ونسكن قلوبنا قدامه
20 لأنه إن لامتنا قلوبنا فالله أعظم من قلوبنا ، ويعلم كل شيء
21 أيها الأحباء ، إن لم تلمنا قلوبنا ، فلنا ثقة من نحو الله
22 ومهما سألنا ننال منه ، لأننا نحفظ وصاياه ، ونعمل الأعمال المرضية أمامه
23 وهذه هي وصيته : أن نؤمن باسم ابنه يسوع المسيح ، ونحب بعضنا بعضا كما أعطانا وصية
24 ومن يحفظ وصاياه يثبت فيه وهو فيه . وبهذا نعرف أنه يثبت فينا : من الروح الذي أعطانا
Dلا تحبوا العالم ولا الأشياء التي في العالم؛ لأن العالم يمضي وشهوته. أما الذي يصنع إرادة الله فيثبت إلى الأبد

فصل من اعمال آبائنا الرسل الأطهار المشمولين بنعمة الروح القدس، بركتهم تكون معنا. آمين

الفصل 25
23 ففي الغد لما جاء أغريباس وبرنيكي في احتفال عظيم ، ودخلا إلى دار
الاستماع مع الأمراء ورجال المدينة المقدمين ، أمر فستوس فأتي ببولس
24 فقال فستوس : أيها الملك أغريباس والرجال الحاضرون معنا أجمعون ، أنتم
تنظرون هذا الذي توسل إلي من جهته كل جمهور اليهود في أورشليم وهنا ،
صارخين أنه لا ينبغي أن يعيش بعد
25 وأما أنا فلما وجدت أنه لم يفعل شيئا يستحق الموت ، وهو قد رفع دعواه إلى أوغسطس ، عزمت أن أرسله
26 وليس لي شيء يقين من جهته لأكتب إلى السيد . لذلك أتيت به لديكم ، ولا
سيما لديك أيها الملك أغريباس ، حتى إذا صار الفحص يكون لي شيء لأكتب
27 لأني أرى حماقة أن أرسل أسيرا ولا أشير إلى الدعاوي التي عليه
لم تزل كلمة الرب تنمو وتعتز وتثبت في كنيسة الله المقدسة

اليوم 4 من الشهر المبارك برمودة , أحسن الله استقباله، وأعاده علينا
وعليكم، ونحن في هدوء واطمئنان، مغفوري الخطايا والآثام، من قِبَل مراحم
الرب، يا آبائي وأخوتي
آمين
استشهاد بقطر وداكيوس وأكاكيوس وإيرينى العذراء ومن معهم من القرن الرابع الميلادى
في مثل هذا اليوم استشهد القديسون . بقطر وداكيوس وايريني العذراء ومن
معهم من رجال ونساء وعذارى . وذلك أنهم كانوا في زمان تملك الملك قسطنطين
الكبير وابنه ، اللذين هدما معابد كثيرة للوثنيين ثم حولاها إلى كنائس علي
اسم السيدة العذراء وأسماء القديسين . ولما ملك يوليانوس الكافر عضد عبادة
الأوثان وأحسن كهنتها وقتل عددا عظيما من المسيحيين ورفع إليه بعضهم خبر
هؤلاء القديسين وما أجروه بالبرابي والأصنام فقبض عليهم وعذبهم بأنواع
العذاب وأخيرا قطع رؤوسهم فنالوا إكليل الشهادة صلاتهم تكون معنا . ولربنا
المجد دائما آمين

20 فكان سبعة إخوة . أخذ الأول امرأة ومات ، ولم يترك نسلا
21 فأخذها الثاني ومات ، ولم يترك هو أيضا نسلا . وهكذا الثالث
22 فأخذها السبعة ، ولم يتركوا نسلا . وآخر الكل ماتت المرأة أيضا
23 ففي القيامة ، متى قاموا ، لمن منهم تكون زوجة ؟ لأنها كانت زوجة للسبعة
24 فأجاب يسوع وقال لهم : أليس لهذا تضلون ، إذ لا تعرفون الكتب ولا قوة الله
25 لأنهم متى قاموا من الأموات لا يزوجون ولا يزوجون ، بل يكونون كملائكة في السماوات
26 وأما من جهة الأموات إنهم يقومون : أفما قرأتم في كتاب موسى ، في أمر
العليقة ، كيف كلمه الله قائلا : أنا إله إبراهيم وإله إسحاق وإله يعقوب
27 ليس هو إله أموات بل إله أحياء . فأنتم إذا تضلون كثيرا

Chapter 10
17 He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction:
but he that refuseth reproof erreth.
18 He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.
19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin:
but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
20 The tongue of the just is as choice silver:
the heart of the wicked is little worth.
21 The lips of the righteous feed many:
but fools die for want of wisdom.
22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
23 It is as sport to a fool to do mischief:
but a man of understanding hath wisdom.
24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him:
but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.

37 Who can number the clouds in wisdom?

16 She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not her's:
her labour is in vain without fear;
17 Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.
18 What time she lifteth up herself on high, she scorneth the horse and his rider.
19 Hast thou given the horse strength?
hast thou clothed his neck with thunder?
20 Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper?
the glory of his nostrils is terrible.
21 He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength:
he goeth on to meet the armed men.
22 He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted;
neither turneth he back from the sword.
23 The quiver rattleth against him, the glittering spear and the shield.
24 He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage:
neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet.
25 He saith among the trumpets, Ha, ha;
and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.
26 Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?
27 Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high?
28 She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place.
29 From thence she seeketh the prey, and her eyes behold afar off.
30 Her young ones also suck up blood:
and where the slain are, there is she.

If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him;
and if he repent, forgive him.
4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent;
thou shalt forgive him.
5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye
might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and
be thou planted in the sea;
and it should obey you.
7 But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will
say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down
to meat?
8 And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup,
and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken;
and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?
9 Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him?
I trow not.
10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants:
we have done that which was our duty to do.

6 Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall
I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by
knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?
7 And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp,
except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known
what is piped or harped?
8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?
9 So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken?
for ye shall speak into the air.
10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.
11 Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto
him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a
barbarian unto me.
12 Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.
13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.
14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
15 What is it then?
I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also:
I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
16 Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that
occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks,
seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?
17 For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.
The grace of God the Father be with you all.

8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is
with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness;
but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night;
in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the
elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works
that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner
of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein
the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall
melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

voices, and said, Away with such a fellow from the earth:
for it is not fit that he should live.
23 And as they cried out, and cast off their clothes, and threw dust into the air,
24 The chief captain commanded him to be brought into the castle, and bade that he should be examined by scourging;
that he might know wherefore they cried so against him.

Martyrdom of the Saints Victor, Decius, Eirene the Virgin, and those with them men, women, and virgins
On this day the saints Victor, Decius, Eirene the virgin and those with
them from men, women and virgins were martyred. These saints were
during the reign of Emperor Constantine and his son who destroyed many
idol temples and changed them to churches on the name of the Virgin
Mary and the Saints. When Emperor Julian the infidel reigned, he
supported idol worshipping, honored their priests, and slew many
Christians. Some pagans informed the Emperor about these saints and how
they destroyed the temples and the idols. He seized them, tortured them
with different kinds of tortures and finally cut off their heads and
they received the crowns of martyrdom.
May their prayers be with us and glory be to God forever. Amen.

14 عالمين أن الذي أقام الرب يسوع سيقيمنا نحن أيضا بيسوع ، ويحضرنا معكم
15 لأن جميع الأشياء هي من أجلكم ، لكي تكون النعمة وهي قد كثرت بالأكثرين ، تزيد الشكر لمجد الله
16 لذلك لا نفشل ، بل وإن كان إنساننا الخارج يفنى ، فالداخل يتجدد يوما فيوما

17 وأما من كان له معيشة العالم ، ونظر أخاه محتاجا ، وأغلق أحشاءه عنه ، فكيف تثبت محبة الله فيه
18 يا أولادي ، لا نحب بالكلام ولا باللسان ، بل بالعمل والحق
19 وبهذا نعرف أننا من الحق ونسكن قلوبنا قدامه
20 لأنه إن لامتنا قلوبنا فالله أعظم من قلوبنا ، ويعلم كل شيء
21 أيها الأحباء ، إن لم تلمنا قلوبنا ، فلنا ثقة من نحو الله
22 ومهما سألنا ننال منه ، لأننا نحفظ وصاياه ، ونعمل الأعمال المرضية أمامه
23 وهذه هي وصيته : أن نؤمن باسم ابنه يسوع المسيح ، ونحب بعضنا بعضا كما أعطانا وصية
24 ومن يحفظ وصاياه يثبت فيه وهو فيه . وبهذا نعرف أنه يثبت فينا : من الروح الذي أعطانا
Dلا تحبوا العالم ولا الأشياء التي في العالم؛ لأن العالم يمضي وشهوته. أما الذي يصنع إرادة الله فيثبت إلى الأبد

25 وأما أنا فلما وجدت أنه لم يفعل شيئا يستحق الموت ، وهو قد رفع دعواه إلى أوغسطس ، عزمت أن أرسله
26 وليس لي شيء يقين من جهته لأكتب إلى السيد . لذلك أتيت به لديكم ، ولا
سيما لديك أيها الملك أغريباس ، حتى إذا صار الفحص يكون لي شيء لأكتب
27 لأني أرى حماقة أن أرسل أسيرا ولا أشير إلى الدعاوي التي عليه
لم تزل كلمة الرب تنمو وتعتز وتثبت في كنيسة الله المقدسة

في مثل هذا اليوم استشهد القديسون . بقطر وداكيوس وايريني العذراء ومن
معهم من رجال ونساء وعذارى . وذلك أنهم كانوا في زمان تملك الملك قسطنطين
الكبير وابنه ، اللذين هدما معابد كثيرة للوثنيين ثم حولاها إلى كنائس علي
اسم السيدة العذراء وأسماء القديسين . ولما ملك يوليانوس الكافر عضد عبادة
الأوثان وأحسن كهنتها وقتل عددا عظيما من المسيحيين ورفع إليه بعضهم خبر
هؤلاء القديسين وما أجروه بالبرابي والأصنام فقبض عليهم وعذبهم بأنواع
العذاب وأخيرا قطع رؤوسهم فنالوا إكليل الشهادة صلاتهم تكون معنا . ولربنا

but woe unto him, through whom they come!
2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck,
and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these
little ones.
3 Take heed to yourselves:
If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him;
and if he repent, forgive him.
4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent;
thou shalt forgive him.
5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye
might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and
be thou planted in the sea;
and it should obey you.
7 But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will
say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down
to meat?
8 And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup,
and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken;
and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?
9 Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him?
I trow not.
10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants:
we have done that which was our duty to do.

5 I would that ye all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied:

6 Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall
I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by
knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?
7 And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp,
except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known
what is piped or harped?
8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?
9 So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken?
for ye shall speak into the air.
10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.
11 Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto
him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a
barbarian unto me.
12 Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.
13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.
14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
15 What is it then?
I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also:
I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
16 Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that
occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks,
seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?
17 For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.
The grace of God the Father be with you all.

8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is
with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness;
but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night;
in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the
elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works
that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner
of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein
the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall
melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be
diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and
blameless.
15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation;
even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
Do not love the world or the things in the world. The world passes
away, and its desires; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

19 And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:

And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing
by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that
slew him.
21 And he said unto me, Depart:
for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.
22 And they gave him audience unto this word, and then lifted up their
voices, and said, Away with such a fellow from the earth:
for it is not fit that he should live.
23 And as they cried out, and cast off their clothes, and threw dust into the air,
24 The chief captain commanded him to be brought into the castle, and bade that he should be examined by scourging;
that he might know wherefore they cried so against him.
The word of the Lord shall grow, multiply, be mighty, and be confirmed, in the holy Church of God.

Day 4 of the Blessed Coptic Month of Baramoudah, may God make it always
received, year after year, with reassurance and tranquility, while our
sins after forgiven by the tender mercies of our God my fathers and
brothers.

Martyrdom of the Saints Victor, Decius, Eirene the Virgin, and those with them men, women, and virgins
On this day the saints Victor, Decius, Eirene the virgin and those with
them from men, women and virgins were martyred. These saints were
during the reign of Emperor Constantine and his son who destroyed many
idol temples and changed them to churches on the name of the Virgin
Mary and the Saints. When Emperor Julian the infidel reigned, he
supported idol worshipping, honored their priests, and slew many
Christians. Some pagans informed the Emperor about these saints and how
they destroyed the temples and the idols. He seized them, tortured them
with different kinds of tortures and finally cut off their heads and
they received the crowns of martyrdom.
May their prayers be with us and glory be to God forever. Amen.

39 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,
40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart;
that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
41 These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.
42 Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him;
but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
43 For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
